For romance writers
Romance that delivers the tropes, the tension and your voice
Choose your subgenre and tropes, give both leads motives and arcs, decide whether the book includes mature content, and keep every chapter sounding like you.
What romance asks of a writing tool
Romance readers know exactly what they came for. The book has to deliver it chapter by chapter. Two leads, two voices
Both love interests need distinct speech and wants, or every conversation sounds like one person talking to themselves.
Tension that builds
A slow burn only works if each chapter moves the relationship a step, and that has to be planned.
Tropes done on purpose
Readers choose books by trope. The tropes promised on the cover have to be on the page.
Your call on content
How explicit the book is should be your decision, made once in one place.
From first meeting to happily ever after
The same steps as any novel, with the choices romance needs built in.Set the subgenre and tropes
Pick from suggestions like contemporary, historical, romantic comedy, slow burn, second chance or small town, or type your own. Add tropes such as enemies to lovers, forbidden love or found family.
Build the couple
Create both leads with motivation, conflicts, stakes, an arc and a way of speaking, plus the friends and rivals around them.
Plan the beats
Outline the relationship chapter by chapter, with an ending hook on each card so the tension carries over.
Draft from your sample
Paste a sample of your romance writing and set the mature-content switch. Chapters follow your voice and your settings.
Polish and publish
Run the whole-book review for pacing notes, generate a cover, and format the book for print and ebook.

Your voice, from a sample

Leads who sound different
Each profile records how the person speaks, so banter has two distinct sides.
Books that remember each other

Frequently asked questions
Can I write explicit romance?
Details & style has a mature-content switch, so you decide whether the book includes mature content, and chapters follow that setting along with your tone and style. If the model declines to write a chapter, you're told and nothing is charged. Store rules on explicit content apply to your listing and cover, so check them before you upload.
Will both leads sound different?
Each character profile includes how the person speaks: vocabulary, rhythm and habits. Chapters use those profiles, so the two leads and their friends can each keep a recognizable voice. If a line still sounds off, select it and ask for a rewrite on Plus, or try the free dialogue generator for alternatives.
Can I plan a slow burn?
Yes. Outline cards hold the beats for each chapter and the hook it ends on, so you can plan the relationship one step at a time. Choose slow burn as a subgenre, use a regeneration note to say where the first kiss should land, and adjust individual cards by hand.
Does it work for a romance series?
On the Pro plan, a book can take up to five earlier books as context, so book two remembers the couple, the town and the friends from book one. The free series planner helps map which couple gets which book and the thread that runs through all of them.
What does it cost to write a full novel?
Chapters cost 15, 20 or 30 credits depending on the tier, so 30 chapters on Balanced come to 600 credits. The first AI outline on your account is free. The Plus plan includes 1,000 credits a month, which covers that with room left for a cover at 30 credits and AI edits at 5 each.
Can it help with the blurb and cover?
Yes. Metadata & cover suggests a blurb, keywords and categories that you apply field by field, and generates covers for 30 credits on Plus and above. The free blurb generator writes back-cover copy in several tones, including romantic, without giving away the ending. You can also upload a cover you already have.
