For first-time authors
Get from first idea to finished book, one clear step at a time
AIBookWriter breaks a book into manageable steps, from the first idea to formatted files. AI helps at every stage, the words stay yours, and nothing you write is overwritten.
What usually gets in the way
None of these mean you can't write a book. They mean the process needs more structure than a blank document gives you.A blank page with no map
It isn't obvious whether to begin with the plot, the people or the opening line.
Forgetting what you wrote
Long gaps between sessions make it hard to recall what happened three chapters ago.
Doubts about the voice
AI help is only worth having if the result still reads like your writing.
The work after the writing
Formatting, covers and store listings can feel as big a job as the book itself.
The path through your first book
Each step opens once the steps it depends on are done, and the step rail shows where you left off.Put the idea in a few sentences
Write a few sentences in the Concept step, then set the title, language, genres and chapter count in Basics.
Choose how it should read
Choose the audience, tone, point of view and tense, and paste a sample of your own writing so chapters match your voice.
Build the cast
Generate characters or write them yourself, with motivation, conflicts and the way each one speaks.
Outline the chapters
The first AI outline on your account is free. Each chapter gets a card with a summary, beats and an ending hook.
Write
AI writes chapter 1 on the Free plan. From Plus, write the rest one at a time or all at once, and edit as you go.
Review, format and publish
Get an editorial letter on the whole book, export print and ebook files, and publish a page for your book.
Built for a first book
The parts of AIBookWriter that matter most when you haven't done this before.A step rail that shows what's next
Every step shows whether it's ready and, if not, what to finish first, so you always know where to pick up.
Your voice from your sample
Paste up to 20,000 characters of your writing and chapters follow its rhythm and word choice.
Nothing overwritten
AI drafts appear beside your text, never on top of it. Version history keeps snapshots as you write.
Recaps for continuity
Each chapter AI writes is recapped, so later chapters remember what happened earlier.
A whole-book review
An editorial letter, pacing notes for each chapter and line edits you accept or reject. Plus plan and above.
Free tools to get unstuck

What the Free plan covers, and what comes later
You can plan a whole book and start writing it on the Free plan. It comes with 100 credits at sign-up, the first AI outline on your account free, and AI writing your first chapter. That's enough to see your idea become characters, chapter cards and real prose before you spend anything.
When you want AI to write the remaining chapters, edit passages in conversation or review the whole book, the Plus plan adds those, with 1,000 credits a month, for $12 a month billed yearly or $15 month to month. The Pro plan adds print-ready PDF and EPUB formatting, book and author pages, translation, audiobooks, visual books and series.
Whichever plan you're on, a few things don't change. You keep all rights to what you write. You can export everything at any time, and every plan can export a Markdown copy of your work. And AI never overwrites your text: drafts are offered beside your version, edit suggestions apply only to the passage they were made for, and every save is kept in the version history.
If you're still looking for the idea, try the free book idea generator or the title generator, then bring what you like into a book. For an overview of the whole process, read the guide on how to write a book.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need writing experience?
No. The steps walk you through the decisions a book needs, in a sensible order, and each one explains what it's for. Experience helps you judge drafts and make edits, and the whole-book review gives you an editor's view of what to improve. Most choices can be changed later, so nothing has to be perfect the first time.
Will the book really be mine?
Yes. Authors keep all rights to what they write in AIBookWriter, and you can export everything at any time. The book is built from your idea, your choices and, if you add one, a sample of your own writing. You can rewrite any part of an AI draft yourself, and the editor and version history are designed for exactly that.
How much can I do for free?
The Free plan gives you 100 credits at sign-up, the first AI outline on your account free and an AI-written first chapter, plus characters, story bible and planning. The standalone tools give 2 free runs an hour. Writing every chapter with AI starts on the Plus plan, at $12 a month billed yearly.
What if I get stuck halfway?
Open the book and the step rail shows where you left off. Recaps of the chapters you've written remind you, and the AI, what has happened so far. If the plan no longer fits, regenerate the outline with a note about what should change; chapters you've already written keep their text.
How long does it take to write a book?
It depends on the book's length, how much you revise and how often you sit down to work. Nothing in the steps has a deadline, so short sessions work fine. Planning can often be done in one sitting; drafting and revising take longer, and the version history makes it safe to work in small pieces.
Can I publish the book when it's done?
Yes. Format & export produces a print-ready PDF and an EPUB on the Pro plan, a DOCX on Plus and a Markdown copy on every plan. You upload the files to the store or printer of your choice. On Pro you can also publish a book page with a free first chapter and an email sign-up.
