Habits that make KDP easier
KDP is self-service, which means the publisher's decisions are yours. A few habits make the process smoother.
Write the description for readers first and for search second. The blurb has to make someone want the book; keywords help the right someone find it. The free blurb SEO optimizer works keywords into a blurb without flattening it.
Choose keywords that describe what readers search for, rather than repeating words already in your title. KDP gives each book seven keyword slots, and the KDP keyword research tool fills them with phrases readers might type.
Check your numbers before you set a price. The free royalty calculator estimates ebook and paperback royalties using Amazon's current rules, and it runs in your browser.
Be accurate about how the book was made. KDP asks publishers whether a book contains AI-generated content when they publish it, so keep track of what AI drafted and what you wrote or rewrote. The version history in AIBookWriter labels where each version of a chapter came from.
Finally, preview before you publish. Upload the files and page through the whole book in KDP's previewer. If you find a problem, fix it in AIBookWriter and export again; re-exports are free once a book's formatting is paid for. The Amazon KDP guide covers each of these steps in more depth.

Frequently asked questions
Does AIBookWriter upload my book to KDP?
No. AIBookWriter prepares the manuscript, listing text, cover and files. You create the title in your own KDP account, enter the listing details, upload the files and press publish yourself. That keeps you in control of every setting KDP asks about, including pricing, rights and AI disclosure.
Which files does KDP need, and which plan makes them?
For a Kindle ebook, an EPUB; for a paperback, a print-ready interior PDF and a cover. AIBookWriter exports the EPUB and print PDF on the Pro plan and calculates the spine width for the wrap cover. Formatting costs 200 credits per book, once, and re-exports are free.
Which trim sizes can I choose?
Trim sizes run from 5×8 to 8.5×11 inches, including 6×9. Pick the same size you'll select when you set up the paperback in KDP, because the interior PDF and the spine width are both calculated for it. Changing size later means exporting again. Check KDP's list of supported sizes before you decide.
Can it help with keywords and categories?
Yes. The Metadata & cover step suggests keywords and categories for your book, which you apply field by field. The free KDP keyword research and category finder tools go further. Treat every suggestion as research to check against the store before you commit. Both tools give 2 free runs an hour without an account.
Do I have to disclose that I used AI?
KDP asks publishers whether a book contains AI-generated text, images or translations when they publish it. Rules can change, so read KDP's current guidance before you upload. AIBookWriter's version history labels which chapter versions came from AI and which from your own edits, which helps you answer accurately.
Can I publish the same book in other stores?
Yes. Authors keep all rights to what they write in AIBookWriter, and the EPUB, PDF and DOCX files aren't tied to any store. If you enroll an ebook in KDP Select, Amazon asks for ebook exclusivity while it's enrolled, so check those terms before you list it elsewhere.
