AI novel generator
Generate a novel that still makes sense in chapter thirty
Long fiction falls apart when the generator forgets who is who and what was promised. AIBookWriter generates from a stored cast and a chapter-by-chapter outline, then reviews the whole draft for pacing.
Why generated novels fall apart
Short fiction can survive improvisation. A novel cannot.Characters drift
The cautious sister turns reckless for no reason, and the villain's motive changes twice before the midpoint.
Threads get dropped
A clue planted early is never mentioned again, and a subplot simply stops somewhere around chapter eleven.
Every chapter sounds the same
Same length, same rhythm, same cliffhanger in the last line, whether the scene is a funeral or a chase.
There is no steering wheel
If the only control is the first prompt, every correction means starting over.
What holds a long story together
Each of these is stored with the book and used whenever a chapter is generated.Character profiles
Role, appearance, background, personality, motivation, conflicts, stakes, arc and speech for every character who matters.
Chapter cards
A summary, beats, a hook, a location, the characters present and a target word count for each chapter.
A plot structure
Three-Act, Hero's Journey, Save the Cat, Seven-Point, Freytag or Kishōtenketsu as the frame for the outline.
Chapter lengths that vary
A target word count per chapter, so a quiet aftermath does not run as long as the battle before it.
One voice
Point of view, tense, tone and an optional writing sample of up to 20,000 characters apply to every chapter.
Pacing notes
After generation, the whole-book review returns notes for every chapter, so you see where the story drags or rushes.
Generate a novel in five passes
Each pass is a checkpoint. Read it, change it, then move on.Premise and settings
Write the concept, choose genres and a chapter count, and set audience, tone, point of view and tense.
The cast
Generate characters, then edit motivations and arcs until the conflicts are the ones you want.
The outline
Generate chapter cards on your chosen structure, at 3 credits per chapter. Rewrite any card before a word of prose exists.
The draft
Generate chapter one and read it. Then write all remaining chapters in one batch.
The review
Have the whole book reviewed: a score, an editorial letter, pacing notes for each chapter and line edits you accept or reject.
Ways to use a generated novel
A discovery draft
Generate the whole novel on Swift, at 15 credits a chapter, to see the shape of the story, then rewrite it in your own hand.
A draft to revise
Generate on Balanced or Literary, then work through the review's line edits and your own revisions.
A premise test
Generate the outline and the first three chapters. If the story is not there yet, change the premise before spending more.
A sequel
On Pro, add the first book as context and generate book two with the same cast and world.
Choosing a model tier for a long draft
Chapters can be generated on three model tiers, and you can switch tiers from one chapter to the next.
- Swift, 15 credits a chapter. The cheapest way to get a whole draft on the page.
- Balanced, 20 credits a chapter. A middle ground for drafts you expect to revise rather than rewrite.
- Literary, 30 credits a chapter. For chapters where the prose itself has to carry the moment.
For a 25-chapter novel, a full draft costs 375 credits on Swift, 500 on Balanced and 750 on Literary, plus 75 credits for the outline.
One approach is to mix them. Generate the bulk of the book on Swift or Balanced, then redraft the opening chapter, the midpoint and the climax on Literary. Those are the chapters readers judge a novel by, and the ones where you will spend most of your own revision time anyway.
Whatever tier you choose, read chapter one before running the batch. If the voice is off, adjusting the writing sample or the tone setting at that point costs one chapter. Discovering it at the end costs twenty-five.

Questions about generating a novel
Can it write an entire novel?
Yes. Once the characters and outline exist, the “write all remaining chapters” option generates every unwritten chapter in one batch. What you get is a full draft, not a finished book, so plan to run the whole-book review and revise before you publish anything.
How does it keep characters consistent?
Each character has a stored profile with appearance, personality, motivation, conflicts, stakes, an arc and a speech note. Those profiles, the outline and your style settings are used every time a chapter is generated, instead of relying on one opening prompt to carry a whole book.
Can I change the plot halfway through?
Yes. Edit the chapter cards for the chapters ahead and generate from the updated plan. Chapters already written are never overwritten: a new draft of a chapter appears next to the existing version, and every save stays in version history.
How long can the novel be?
You choose the chapter count in Basics and a target word count on each chapter card, so length is up to you. Longer books cost more credits, since chapters are priced one by one. If you are finishing a novel you started elsewhere, the Word importer accepts manuscripts of up to 200,000 words.
What does it cost to try?
The Free plan gives you 100 credits at sign-up, your first outline free and chapter one written by the AI. That is enough to see the cast, the plan and the prose before paying. A full draft needs a paid plan; Plus includes 1,000 credits a month.
Can I steer the style of the prose?
Set point of view, tense, tone and writing style in Details & style, and paste a writing sample of up to 20,000 characters. The sample is the most direct way to shape the prose: generated chapters follow its sentence length, vocabulary and rhythm.
