An author page and book pages give readers a place to sample your writing and join your mailing list, at an address like aibookwriter.net/author/your-name. Making pages public needs the Pro plan. The Publish step opens once the book has a title and blurb in Metadata & cover.

Step 1: Read the checklist

Open Publish. The checklist at the top tracks five separate things: Metadata and blurb, Cover, Exported files, Author page public and Book page public. Anything not done yet links to the place where you can finish it.

Step 2: Set up your author page

Open Author page from the app’s main menu. Fill in the name readers will see — a pen name is fine — along with your page address, a short bio, a photo, your website and up to eight links. You can edit the profile on any plan, but it stays hidden until you make it public, which needs Pro.

Write the bio for readers: a sentence about what you write and why, and one personal detail.

Step 3: Choose the book page address

Back in Publish, under Your book page, set the Page address — usually the title in lowercase, with hyphens. The full address appears under the field.

Step 4: Decide how much to give away

  • Free chapters — anyone can read these. One to three is typical.
  • More with email — extra chapters that unlock when a reader joins your list.

A reader who signs up checks a consent box, can read on right away, and receives a welcome email with a one-click unsubscribe link. Locked chapters are never sent to a visitor’s browser.

Step 5: Add where to buy

Under Where to buy, press Add link for each store — a label such as “Amazon” and the full link — then Save links. They appear as buttons on your book page.

Step 6: Make the book page public

Press Make the book page public. Before anything changes, a summary shows What visitors will see: the cover, title, author name and blurb, the chapter list, the free chapters and the chapters unlocked by email — and nothing else. Drafts, notes, characters and the rest of the text stay private. Press Publish the page to go live.

If your author page is still hidden, the summary warns you. Make it public in Author page so the book page can be reached.

Step 7: Check it as a reader would

Press View page to open the live page. Read the free chapters, try the sign-up with an address of your own, and click each store button.

Step 8: Prepare the store uploads

The Amazon KDP kit lists every field KDP’s book details page asks for — language, title, subtitle, series, edition, author, description, keywords and categories — each with a copy button. It also reminds you that KDP asks whether a book contains AI-generated content; answer honestly. Manuscript & cover files takes you to your exports, and Open KDP opens Amazon’s site.

Step 9: Track where the book is live

Under Store status, set each store — Amazon KDP, Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble Press, Google Play Books, IngramSpark and Draft2Digital — to Not submitted, Submitted or Live. The date is recorded, so you can see where the book stands at a glance.

Step 10: Look after your reader list

The reader list belongs to you. The Distribution step shows how many readers have joined, and Export CSV downloads the list with each reader’s consent wording and status. Email readers only about your books, honor unsubscribes, and follow the email laws that apply to you. To take a book offline, press Make private — the page stops being visible immediately.

Try it as you read

Open AIBookWriter in another tab and follow along with your own book. The Free plan starts with 100 credits.
