Book pagePro plan

Let readers try a chapter before they buy

Every book you publish can have its own page with the cover, blurb and buy links. The first chapter is free to read, and readers unlock more chapters by leaving their email.

Setting up a book page

The page is built from the book you already have in AIBookWriter, so there's no separate copy to keep in sync.
  1. Finish the metadata

Write the blurb and set the cover in the Metadata & cover step. They become the top of the page.

  2. Paste in store links

Paste links to every store that sells the book, so readers can buy it wherever they prefer.

  3. Offer the opening

The first chapter is open to every visitor. Readers who want to keep going leave an email address to unlock more chapters.

  4. Make it public

Switch the book to public when the page is ready. Each book has its own switch, and you can turn it back to private at any time.

What readers find on it

A store listing shows a cover and a description. A book page lets people read.
  • Cover, blurb and buy links

Everything a reader needs to decide, with links to every store that carries the book.

  • Chapter one, open to all

Undecided readers can read the opening in full, right on the page, with nothing to sign.

  • More chapters for an email

Readers who want to continue leave their email to unlock further chapters, and they join your reader list.

  • Locked chapters stay on the server

Only the chapters a reader is allowed to see are sent to their browser. Locked text can't be pulled out of the page source.

  • Its own public/private switch

Publish one book while another stays private. Change the setting whenever you need to.

  • Listed on your author page

Public books appear on your author page automatically, next to your other titles.

Why give a chapter away

A blurb tells readers what a book is about. A chapter shows them how it reads. For many readers, that second part decides it: they want to know whether the voice suits them before they buy.

A book page lets them find out without leaving. The cover, blurb and buy links sit at the top. Below them, the first chapter is open to everyone. Readers who reach the end and want more can leave their email to unlock further chapters, and that address joins your reader list, which you can export as a CSV file.

This is kinder to readers than a sign-up wall on the first page, and more useful to you than a page that only shows a cover. Readers who sign up after finishing a chapter know exactly what they're asking to hear more about.

The technical side is handled with the same care. Locked chapters are never sent to a reader's browser until that reader has unlocked them. Nothing is hidden with page styling that a curious visitor could switch off.

Book pages are part of the Pro plan, along with the author page that lists all your public books. Each book has its own public/private switch, so you can publish one title while you're still revising another.

Where to share a book page

  • In your back matter

Point readers who finished book one to the page for book two, where they can start reading straight away.

  • In social posts

Link to a page that lets people read, not just look at a cover.

  • In your newsletter

Send subscribers to the opening chapter of a new release on the day it comes out.

  • In review requests

Give reviewers and bloggers one link with the blurb, the cover and a sample to read.

Frequently asked questions

Which plan includes book pages?

Book pages are part of the Pro plan, which also includes the author page, print-ready PDF and EPUB formatting, translation and audiobooks. Pro costs $30 a month billed yearly or $37 month to month and includes 5,000 credits a month. Ultra includes everything in Pro.

How much of my book can readers see?

The first chapter is free to read for everyone who opens the page. More chapters unlock when a reader leaves an email address. The rest of the book stays private, and locked chapters are never sent to the browser, so they can't be copied out of the page source.

Can I keep one book private while another is public?

Yes. Every book has its own public/private switch. A private book has no public page and doesn't appear on your author page. You can change the setting as often as you need, for example while you fix a typo before launch or rework the opening chapter.

Where do the reader emails go?

Emails collected on your book pages go to your reader list in AIBookWriter. You can export the list as a CSV file and import it into whichever email service you use. Each sign-up keeps the wording the reader agreed to, and readers can unsubscribe. Export as often as you like, for example before each newsletter.

Which stores can I link to?

Any store that sells your book. Buy links are plain links you paste in, so you can add online retailers, a bookshop that stocks the book, or your own shop. Readers see them next to the cover and blurb at the top of the page.

Does the book need to be finished?

The page needs the book's metadata, because the Publish step opens once Metadata & cover is done. The opening chapter is what visitors read first, so polish it before you go public. You can update buy links later, for example when the book appears in a new store.
