AI manga generator

Make a manga where your characters look like themselves on every page

Design the cast once, choose a single manga style for the volume and illustrate it page by page. AIBookWriter keeps faces and outfits consistent with reference images and exports a print PDF with bleed.

What goes wrong when you prompt manga one image at a time

Manga depends on recognizable characters, and readers notice the moment one slips.
  • Faces go off-model

Hair parting, eye shape and expression change from page to page, until the lead looks like a stranger.

  • The look keeps shifting

Clean line work on one page, heavy shading on the next, because each image was prompted on its own.

  • Pacing gets lost

Without a page plan, quiet moments and big reveals get the same weight.

  • Nothing ties it into a volume

A folder of images is not a book you can print or hand to someone.

How to create a manga with AI

Manga is one of the visual book types on the Pro plan.
  1. Set up the volume

Name it, choose the audience and the book's language, and describe the story.

  2. Design the cast

Write or generate each character's appearance, personality and role. Reference images keep them on-model.

  3. Choose the manga style

One art style for the whole volume, applied to every page.

  4. Plan the pages

Decide what each page shows, and save two-page spreads for the moments that need room.

  5. Illustrate and export

Pages are illustrated one by one at 20 credits each. Export a print PDF with bleed when the volume is done.

Plotting a manga in four movements

Kishōtenketsu is a four-part story shape long associated with Japanese storytelling, including four-panel yonkoma comics. Unlike a Western three-act story, it does not need a central conflict to move forward.

  • Ki (introduction). Meet the characters in their ordinary world.
  • Shō (development). Deepen it. Show more of who they are and what they want, without a reversal yet.
  • Ten (twist). Something unexpected arrives and changes how everything before it reads.
  • Ketsu (reconciliation). The pieces settle into a new understanding.

The shape suits slice-of-life and romance one-shots especially well, where the turn is a change of perspective rather than a fight.

If you like to work out the story in prose first, Kishōtenketsu is one of the six plot structures in AIBookWriter's outline step, alongside Three-Act, Hero's Journey, Save the Cat, Seven-Point and Freytag. Outline the story there, then use the outline to plan the manga's pages.

When you plan the pages, give the ten room to land. A two-page spread at the turn lets the reader feel it before the story starts to resolve, and the quieter pages of the ketsu can then breathe.

Everything you need to finish a manga

Built around a full volume, not single illustrations.
  • Characters that stay themselves

Reference images anchor each character's look through the whole volume.

  • One manga style

Picked once for the book, and every page follows it.

  • Spreads for big moments

Single pages or two-page spreads, chosen page by page.

  • Print PDF with bleed

A file built for printing, with the art running past the trim.

  • Your language

Set the book's language in Basics: Japanese, English or one of more than 30 others.

  • Cover art

Generate a cover for the volume for 30 credits, with the spine width calculated for print.

Manga you can make

  • A slice-of-life one-shot

A quiet story about a night-shift nurse and the stray cat that waits by the hospital doors every morning.

  • A romance

Two rivals on the school debate team, told across a short volume that ends on a new understanding.

  • An action opener

A first chapter that introduces a hero, a rival and the tournament they are both determined to win.

  • Your novel as manga

A key scene from a book you wrote, retold as a short manga for readers or for a pitch.

Questions about the AI manga generator

Do I need the Pro plan?

Yes. Visual books, including manga, are part of Pro, which costs $30 a month billed yearly or $37 billed monthly and includes 5,000 credits a month. Each illustrated page costs 20 credits, so a 32-page manga uses 640 credits for its pages.

How does it keep characters on-model?

Every character has a profile with a detailed appearance, and reference images are used whenever a page is illustrated. Combined with a single art style for the whole volume, that keeps faces, hair and outfits consistent from the first page to the last.

Can the manga be in Japanese?

Set the book's language in Basics. Books can be written in more than 30 languages, Japanese included, even though the interface itself is in English. For story ideas, the free story idea maker (ネタ) outputs Japanese by default.

Can I print and sell my manga?

Yes. Export a print PDF with bleed and use it with the printer or print-on-demand service of your choice, along with a cover generated with a calculated spine width. You keep all rights to what you make; characters from someone else's series need their owner's permission.

Can I turn my novel into a manga?

Yes, as a separate visual book. Start from your novel's characters and a key scene or chapter, design the cast with reference images and plan the pages. The novel itself stays exactly as it is, and the manga can be published on its own.
